This model of Gasschutzmaske (Gas Protection Mask) was introduced in 1917, and was known as the Ledermaske due to its leather body construction. The leather of the mask is still soft, and has traces of markings stamped under the edge gasket, though they are mostly faded and sadly not legible. "AEGER" was the most we could make out. It
