Called in German a Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, this genuine badge is constructed of silvered zinc. Over time, the silver oxidizes, and wears off, so they appear dark gray, however this example still has some areas with silvering, and also the zinc base metal has not oxidized, so it has a grayish metallic color with a dull shine. The design consists of an oval oak wreath tied together at the base via a
